ABSTRACT
Cervical pregnancy is a very rare from of ectopic gestation. The incidence is decreased by age. Cervical carcinoma and the other forms of abortions must be ruled out in order to make differential diagnosis. A 28 years old woman was admitted to our clinic in the eight week of pregnancy with painless vaginal bleeding that has started the previous day. On gynecologic examination, a tentative diagnosis of cervical pregnancy was made and confirmed by ultrasound examination. 2 unit of blood were transfused. With the patient general anasthesia, a suture was placed in the lateral wall of the cervix at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions for ligation of the descending branch of uterine arteries before the curretage was performed. After the curettage, profuse bleeding ensued. We stopped, performing the cerival cerclage. The suture was removed on the tenth postoperative day and the patient was discharged from the hospital in good condition. In the present study, a case of cervical pregnancy is presented and diagnosis and treatment of cervical pregnancy is discussed.
