Is It Necessary To Investigate Toxoplasmosis, Cytomegalovirus And Rubella Antibody Titers In Pregnancy

ÖZET
Amaç: Toksoplazma, Rubella ve Sitomegalovirus hastalıklarının gebelerdeki insidansını ve gerekliliğini saptamak. Çalışmanın Yapıldığı Yer: SB Ankara Hastanesi Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum Kliniği, Ankara. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya gebe polikliniğine takip amacıyla başvuran 173 gebe alındı. Tüm gebelerde Toksoplazma, Rubella ve Sitomegalovirus için IgM ve IgG değerlerine bakıldı. Bulgular: Toksoplazma, Rubella ve Sitomegalovirus IgG antikorları yönünden seropozitiflik prevalansı sırasıyla %1.2, %1.2 ve %0.6 saptandı. Sonuç: Gebeler ilk takiplerine geldiklerinde Toksoplazma ve Rubella'nın IgM ve IgG değerlerine bakmak faydalı olacaktır. Diğer TORCH etkenlerine bakmak gereksiz ve maliyeti artırıcı unsur olacaktır.

ABSTRACT
Objective: To consider the incidence and the necessity of toxoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus and rubella antibody titers in pregnancy. Institution: The Ministry of Health Ankara Hospital. Material and Methods: The antibody titers of IgM and IgG of toxoplasmosis, rubella and cytomegalovirus were evaluted in 173 healthy pergnant women. Results: The seropositivity of antibody titers of toxoplasmosis, rubella and cytomegalovirus were 33% for IgG-1.2% for IgM, 94.2% for IgG-1.2% for IgM and %95.4 our IgG-0.6% for IgM respectively. Conclusion: The measurement of the IgM and IgG antibody titers of toxoplasmosis and rubella in the first prenatal visit is helpful. However, the measurement of other TORCH antibody titers is not necessary and is not cost effective.
