Institution: Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetric and Gynecology, Kırıkkale. Materials and Methods: In this study we included 342 multipar women whose ages were between 20 and 40 years old. They applied to Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetric and Gynecology and were using a contraceptive method. In the study group an inquiry was filled with face to face conversation which included family planning methods they used, their educational states and their unwanted pregnancies. The data was expressed as average ± SD. We used chi square (Pearson) test for statistical analysis and p<0.05 were found significant. Results: The average age of the 342 women in the study group was 31.8 ± 5.6 ranging between 20 and 40. The most used contraceptive method was coitus interruptus (%38,9) and the other methods mostly used were intrauterine device (%32.7), condoms (%12.9), oral contraceptives (%6.1) and tuba sterilization (%2.3). We found statistically significant relationship between the methods used and the educational status of the family (p=0.009). Conclusion: In order to reduce the unwanted pregnancies and wanted abortions which reversely effect the women healthy; an effective contraception must be employed. For this purpose population must be educated and a good consultation service must be given. And over the family must consider the method of their own.
