ABSTRACT
Objective: The purpose of the study was to investigate whether CA-125 levels are useful for predicting the prognosis of abortus imminence during pregnancy. Institution: Ankara Social Security Association Hospital, Department of Obstetric and Gynecology, Ankara. Material and Methods: Serum CA-125 levels were evaluated in 30 pregnant women with abortus imminence in the first trimester and compared with abortus imminence in the first trimester and compared with those of 30 healthy pregnant controls. Special attention was given to which day of vaginal bleeding the blood sample was taken. Note was taken as to whether or not the woman reached the second trimester of pregnancy healthy. Results: A significant difference was found between the CA-125 levels of the abortus imminence group and the control group (p< 0.001). Conclusion: It was concluded that CA-125 levels can be beneficial in predicting the prognosis of pregnancy and decidual destruction in cases of abortus imminence resulting in spontaneous abortion.
